Like Whoa, the Voices For Change talent competition was pretty amazing. I watched in awe in Detroit as performers from very different backgrounds took the stage and raised their voices for change. They pumped lyrics or verses dealing with some serious life matters like war, oppression, love, God and they did it with creativity and mad rhythm. I can’t wait to see what happens when conscientious performers like the ones I witnessed perform during the Voices For Change talent competition make their way into mainstream entertainment…life will be that much nicer, God willing.
My votes for Project 26.. Great Band that shows creativity and a real musical talent. they also fit outlandish and what I think they stand for.

I would like to present my vote to the Reef Band, since both the voice and band music are well performed, and demostrated a through understanding about art. From my point of view, music is a form of art that is consisted of rythems, sound notes, and a positive affection. It’s not supposed to be consisted of talkings in the whole time, or containing elements that’s not considered to be art subjects.

the performances in Tampa were [mostly] amazing. personally, I liked Ebraheem and D-Clique the most; I’m not surprised D-Clique won… congrats to all the other winners, if any of you are interested I found their performance at the talent show online

umm its not bad if the CD is produced solely by the performer as in Zain Ali Shamoons case – he writes his own music and then performs to it – thats DOES not bring down the performance thing..
I think Anthony Lauderdale had an original and genuine entry; very nice mashAllah.
Since Raef Band won the national competition, Alex Schein will be the local winner in NY. His song Rise Up is really good.

When will the official announcement be made? When will the winners be added to the “Artists” section of the site (if at all)? When will the winners be added to the tour information? Only a couple of days left until the tour starts!
